Praying for young people - leaflets now printed

1,000 copies of the leaflets entitled "Praying for Young People" have now been sent out across the Methodist Church in Cardiff and Caerphilly to encourage the power of united prayer for issues young people and those working with young people face in today's world.

We share below Two of the prayers for adults in leadership and the church as a whole from the back page of this leaflet (available to download from the Youth Space website)

Lord, we pray for those who work with young people through your church
Give them;
The courage to face what comes to the door,
The wisdom to hunt for the answers with young people,
and the strength to walk the path alongside them.
Amen

Help us to be a praising, worshiping and serving people. Instruct us as a church in what we need to know about worship, prayer and service so that we can become the servants that you have called us to be. Lord, we pray that you would pour out your spirit on the Methodist Church in Cardiff and Caerphilly and on every church
in this city. Help each church to hear your call to prayer and lead us to join together in prayer for all young people. May your love overflow from each church to people everywhere. May each church welcome people of every age and from every race, culture, colour and background.

New blog to assist in praying for young people

So the idea goes like this. There is a new blog which will start slowly but by September 2011 we will be publishing thoughts on one theme that affects the lives of young people within Cardiff per week. Some of the themes will be local events, some more time sensitive and some weeks will be more issues based.
This blog is being edited by a small team from Youth Space but so that you don't get bored of our voice we will also be inviting guest writers to contribute in areas they know far more than us about.

So come follow us and see where we can get together.
